Studio Update

We would like to introduce you to two architects who plays a important role in the initial stage of the new studios.

Bureau Moon
Before starting the renovations, we engaged Buro Moon Buro Moon to analyse and optimise the 20 year old building. Before starting her own architectural firm, Moon worked at (internationally) renowned Benthem Crouwel Architects on a variety of projects such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. She has translated her passion for repurposing and transforming existing buildings into a design for Villa Magnolia which has become the basis for the studio renovation.

The challenges she faced for Villa Magnolia were the arrival experience, walking routes, creating more privacy, connection with the landscape, outdoor experience and the spatial quality and functionality of the studios. With her design she creates more peace and privacy by making adjustments to the use of outdoor space. On the first floor she also made a number of surprising adjustments, which is an enormous added value.

We already share a little sneak peak of few of her proposals in the attached photos. Changes are subtle but with big impact. Can you spot them?

ATELIER FLOOR 
We enlisted the help of ATELIER FLOOR for the interior design of the studios. Floor who has her roots in Zeeland, studied architecture at Delft University of Technology and after having worked for several agencies, she started her own Design studio in 2009. She already has completed a number of impressive projects with clients such as hotel groups Mariott and Accor.

For Villa Magnolia she has created an intimate design that is uncomplicatedly smart with an eye for detail. The studios are optimally designed for longer stays and include a kitchenette. Beautiful, high quality materials are used and the interior will therefore be adapted for a development from three to a four star level. With the sea as a source of inspiration, an oasis of tranquility is created with natural hues and a balanced color palette between warm and cool.
